“As Beautiful as This One” | Cataract Falls | Indiana Elopement Video
The crisp October day started in Monrovia, Indiana, in a 102-year-old building named "The Space." The Space was a simple layout with exposed brick, original ceiling, and natural light from the street. It was ideal for Kortney and Hannah's simple ceremony before their vows over Cataract Falls.
The moments were simple yet done with great love and attention. You could see it in the way Kortney spoke with her family, the intention placed into the decor, or just the simple affirmations towards each other that said "I love you" over and over again.
Following the ceremony, the couple dug into the cake and had a little champagne. Hannah's mother-in-law gave a small toast remarking how far Kortney had come and how the two have only made each other better.
Then came the personal vows over Cataract Falls. Atop the falls, the trees silently listened to the vows as the wind blew the leaves. The water flowed onward much like the passage of time. Then the words flowed, and eyes locked. For this one moment, time ceased to exist. A palpable love re-convened with eternity.
For this palpable love and so much more, I am grateful.
In Your Corner,
Aaron
On a Personal Note
In early September, I received an email from this young lady named Hannah. She detailed her elopement plans over Cataract Falls. Intrigued I sent her my pricing and set up a call to talk more.
Our call was terrific. I met Hannah's other half, Kortney, and our conversation went deep very quickly. They were just as esoteric and attentive as I. During the call, I thought, 'I should be recording this because they are providing perfect website copy.'
Nevertheless, this isn't a hobby, and I can't disservice my current couples by discounting the rates. Hannah said it was out of their budget. I sighed.
Some time passed, and I received a gift basket from a friend. Inside, laid a card titled "Love is Love" with a rainbow above it. I get the message, God. Your will not mine.
I reached back out and settled on a price. A call followed with more tears.
Hannah and Kortney have a story they don't want to forget. A story filled with heartbreak, pain, fate, love, and friendship. For a second, they were left out. Forgotten. Nevertheless, due to the inherent cost of things but still disappointing. It breaks my heart when a couple wants this heirloom piece and is left out.
If this is you, then reach out, and maybe we can work something out. Or, I might be able to find a wedding videographer that is more in your range.
Hannah and Kortney's wedding reminded me of the value of wedding videos. At times the wedding day was bittersweet. Sweet because they were getting married. Bitter because some family wasn't there. For that reason, I wanted to create a piece that will stand the test of time. A film radiating the same love I witnessed on that October day. A shining testament to where they have been and where they are going. A film that you can watch and say 'that's them.'
For the opportunity to serve these two beautiful souls, I am grateful.
