"Our Families are Our World" | Big Family Southern Indiana Wedding

Jaci's letter to her fiance Chase wrote, "our families are our world". Those words could not be more true in their big family southern Indiana wedding.

Initially scheduled for the Vanderburgh 4H Center, the stage was set for a massive celebration - over 400 people. Jaci's family is enormous and very close. Chase has a sizable family as well. Unfortunately, weeks before, the party had to be moved due to covid restrictions. Luckily, the Evansville Country Club filled in as host with a smaller guest list.

The wedding day felt like a reunion or party. Fireball was liberally passed around, and jokes were thrown out left and right. However, there were undoubtedly sentimental parts to the day. One was when Jaci's father saw her for the first time. Him being a somewhat stoic and reserved man, the tears welled to the surface as he saw his beautiful daughter. Another example is Chase's nervousness that was visible throughout the whole day. During the ceremony, he whispered to Jaci, "If I pass out, I still love you."

A feeling of friendship, family, and celebration filled the air. If you are part of a big family, you know the occasion. The kids have an absolute blast and occasionally break something or shed a tear. The grandparents reminisce and gladly watch the children. The parent's party and try to parent at the same time. It's a site to see and a blessing to be a part of.

I recall Jaci and Chase exiting the church while their family cheered and gently tossed flower petals at them. In large family fashion, the nephews plotted otherwise. It was a full-on ambush with hands of flower petals going straight to the face. Jaci, an expert of nephews at this point, laughed it off saying, "oh, the joys of nephews!" This line epitomized the day—a celebration of Jaci and Chase and the continuation of two amazing families.
