Emotional Groom CRIES When He Sees Daughter and Wife | Indiana Wedding Video
The wedding day started on two very different notes.
McKaide's groomsmen started the day shooting tuber ware containers full of tannerite just outside Emily and McKaide's proud country home. Emily and the bridesmaids started at second street salon and then moved onto First Baptist Church. At the church, the ladies continually tried and failed at making Tik Toks.
The day built up to the procession down the aisle. Here is what Emily had to say about it:
I’m glad I had my dad by my side to help with how anxious I was. I’m not sure how I managed to hold in my tears. I remember I had to keep looking down because I knew the second I saw McKaide looking at me and him crying, I would also cry. After the prayer and I was up on stage holding McKaide’s hands. All my nerves were gone.
-Emily (Bride)
As the moment neared, McKaide was visibly nervous. He paced. He joked with his friends and made repetitious movements. On the other hand, Emily sat in the hall with their daughter, surrounded by her bridesmaids. A fair depiction of the two.
Then the once-in-a-lifetime moment arrived. The doors opened, and Mckaide's tear reservoir followed along with a beautiful ceremony.
During the ceremony the pastor said these words that could not be more true about the couple:
"And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
That is these two- love. That is their families. I don't know if they have always been like that, but that's what I saw. Maybe it's the rawness of a newborn entering into their families. Regardless it was certainly there.
The best man Logan Gabhart said it best, "Emily and McKaide is the couple we all want to be like." Like the rest of us, they aren't perfect, but they sure know how to love well.
Personal Note
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
-The Alchemist, Apollo Coelho
The quote above is how I felt during McKaide and Emily's edit. Their desire overflowed into the edit. I stumbled upon their soundtrack through a band called Lowercase Noises. The band had a whole album about an unexpected pregnancy and the emotions that go along with it. At first, I imagine the news brought trepidation and then a soft love and tenderness. The soundtrack was exactly like that and featured the sound of a fetal heart monitor. The soundtrack picked them.
The perfectness of the song, along with the vulnerability of these two, brought me to tears again and again. All you can do in moments like that in the editing room is pray, "Use me, Lord. Use me, Lord. Not my work but yours."
